FUNPUNCH — Privacy Policy

TL;DR

FUNPUNCH is built to be private by default. We don't have user accounts. We don't run analytics. We don't show ads. We don't track anyone. Everything you do in the app — your punches, your scores, your settings — stays on your phone. Nothing about your gameplay is sent to us or to anyone else.

The one exception is described in "Third-party SDK telemetry" below: the on-device pose-detection library we use (Google ML Kit) reports anonymous diagnostic and performance data to Google about itself, not about you. We never see this data.

What we collect

Nothing. FUNPUNCH does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data about you. Specifically:

• No accounts, no sign-up, no email address required.
• No analytics or tracking.
• No advertising or ad identifiers.
• No location data.
• No contacts, photos, or files outside the app's own storage.

Camera and microphone

FUNPUNCH uses your device's camera to count your punches in real time and (in Bag Mode) the microphone to help confirm hits by sound. Both work like this:

• All processing happens on your device. Camera frames and audio samples are analyzed in-memory and discarded immediately.
• Nothing is recorded. No video or audio file is ever created, saved, or sent anywhere.
• You control the permissions in your device's system Settings. Revoking either does not break the app; FUNPUNCH degrades to working with whatever's still allowed.

What we store on your device

Some things stay on your phone so the app remembers them between sessions:

• Your fighter name (whatever you typed in onboarding).
• Your faction, your rank progress, your personal bests, your training progress, your active bag edition.
• App settings (audio on/off, reminders on/off, calibration thresholds).

This data lives in iOS's standard app preferences (UserDefaults) and never leaves your device. Uninstalling FUNPUNCH deletes all of it.

Third-party SDK telemetry

FUNPUNCH uses Google ML Kit Pose Detection to count your punches. ML Kit runs on your device — your video never leaves your phone — but the ML Kit SDK itself reports anonymous diagnostic information to Google to help Google improve the SDK. This includes:

• Device identifier (a random Google-assigned ID, not linked to you personally).
• Diagnostic and performance data about how the SDK is running.
• Product interaction data about how the SDK's features are used.

This data is not tracking, not linked to any user identity, and we have no access to it. It exists solely so Google can maintain and improve ML Kit. Google's own privacy practices for ML Kit are documented at developers.google.com/ml-kit/term-and-privacy.

If you do not want ML Kit's diagnostic reporting to happen, the only way to prevent it is not to use FUNPUNCH (or any other app that uses ML Kit).

Children's privacy

FUNPUNCH is designed to be safe for young players, but it is not part of Apple's Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes (anything that affects what we collect or how we use it) will be announced clearly in the app's next update.
